O encontro aconteceu durante os dias 26 e 27 de Novembro, na cidade de Yeovil, no Sul da Inglaterra, onde vivemos a 2 anos como missionários, colaborando com a Yeovil Community Church (YCC), igreja que mais uma vez sediou o encontro.
Éramos mais de 30 pessoas reunidas nesses 2 dias. Foi um tempo tremendo e extremamente encorajador, uma vez que tivemos uma boa representatividade de lideres Ingleses de diferentes partes do país, além de alguns irmãos brasileiros que vieram trazer seu encorajamento para essa nação. As cidades representadas foram Yeovil, Bolton, Hereford, Barnstaple, Gloucester e Bognor Regis.
Pudemos compartilhar da visão do TG, das realidades da igreja no Reino Unido e na Europa, plantação de novas igrejas e como essa nova geração de lideres pode se ajudar mutuamente para que possamos ser eficazes e relevantes na comunicação do evangelho, e assim, alcançar a nova geração.
Todos saíram do encontro muito animados, e o mais importante, dispostos a caminhar juntos a assumir o TG para o Reino Unido. Como resultado disso, já estamos trabalhando (juntos) um novo encontro TG para o primeiro semestre de 2011, que provavelmente acontecerá em Maio (confirmaremos a data em breve). Porém, este será um evento mais amplo, nos moldes dos que realizamos no Brasil, trazendo oficinas, seminários, debates e tudo que puder estimular a diversidade, a troca de experiências, o encorajamento mutuo e a construção de parcerias.
Além disso, a igreja Salt Church, em Bolton, estará iniciando no início do próximo ano a escola de Plantadores de Igrejas (EPI) para o Reino Unido, a qual cremos, será uma grande ferramenta de encorajamento e capacitação de líderes para a nova geração, e por isso, estamos intensificando o foco na divulgação da escola e encorajando toda a comunidade TG a enviarem seus representantes para a escola.
Deus está fazendo grandes coisas e está levantando uma nova geração de lideres, disposta a transformar a nova geração e a realidade do Cristianismo nesse país!
The meeting took place on 26 and 27 November in Yeovil, southwest England, place where we’ve been living for two years now as missionaries, working with Yeovil Community Church (YCC), which hosted the meeting once again.
We were more than 30 people gathered during these two days. It was a tremendous time in the presence of God and extremely encouraging, once we had a good representativeness of British leaders from different parts of the country, and some Brazilian brothers who came to bring their encouragement for this nation. The cities represented were Yeovil, Bolton, Hereford, Barnstaple, Gloucester and Bognor Regis.
We shared the vision of TG movement and heard all the participants to share their realities as well as the reality of the church in the United Kingdom and Europe. We also talked about church planting and how the new generation of leaders could help each other so that we can be more effective and relevant in communicating the gospel in order to reach the our generation.
At the end, everyone left the meeting very excited, and most importantly, willing to walk together and take the responsibility of TG to the UK. As a result of this, we are planning and working (together) for a new TG Gathering for the first half of 2011, which will probably happen in May (We will confirm the date soon). However, this event will broader (as it has happened in Brazil) with workshops, seminars, debates and everything that can stimulate diversity, exchange of experiences, mutual encouragement and partnerships.
In addition, the Salt Church in Bolton will be starting in early the next year the School of Church Planting for the UK, and we believe that the school will be a great tool for encouragement and training for the new generation of leaders. Therefore we are intensifying the focus on promoting this project and encouraging the whole TG community to send their representatives to the school.
God is doing great things and raising up a new generation of leaders eager to transform the new generation as well as the reality of Christianity in this country!
